Duties and functions of the Samarkand Regional Puppet Theater
The following are the functions of the theater;
  • to consistently continue our great spiritual heritage, unique values, and traditions, to enrich and develop them based on the requirements of the new era, to apply advanced techniques in this field to the art of theater, combining them with the national spirit.
  • to contribute to the development of the Uzbek national theater art based on the creation of artistically high, popular stage works in harmony with the ideas of national independence.
  • to form feelings of national pride and national pride in the hearts of our people, especially young people, to contribute to their education in the spirit of love for the motherland, respect for universal values, and devotion to the ideals of humanism with well-rounded stage works.
  • to serve for the full realization of the potential of talented artists, young actors, playwrights, directors and all creators of the performing arts.
  • active participation in spiritual and educational events held on the scale of our country, establishing creative communication and practical cooperation with foreign theaters, achieving a worthy presentation of the achievements of Uzbek theater at international festivals.
  • glorifying national and universal values ​​by staging the best examples of Uzbek and world dramaturgy, actively participating in the process of forming the spiritual, educational, and ideological worldviews of the general public, especially young people.application of advanced modern directions of world and national theater art
  • to search for young talents in the field of theater, to cooperate closely with higher educational institutions, to help organize the training of actors and directors, to establish a studio of promising young people under the theater and to use it effectively.
  • to order stage works on the basis of projects to create performances of a high artistic level, invite mature artists to work on the basis of a contract and create all conditions for them.
Based on the assigned tasks, the theater performs the following functions;
  • exhibitions, festivals, pageants, lectures, meetings with prominent figures of culture, art and science, benefits, theater performances, specially prepared programs, recreational and creative evenings, purposeful theatrical ritual evenings and others organizing and conducting entertainment events.
  • to form the feelings of national independence in the hearts of our people, especially the youth, to contribute to their well-rounded upbringing in the spirit of love for the Motherland, respect for universal values, and devotion to the ideals of humanism;
  • to take measures to improve the qualifications of employees, to support them from a moral and social point of view, to introduce effective methods of encouraging initiative in order to effectively organize the tasks set before the theater and performing arts;
  • conclusion of mutually beneficial agreements and memoranda on cultural, scientific, creative and economic cooperation with institutions in our country and abroad in order to widely promote theater and performing arts;
  • to contribute to the development of the Uzbek national theater and performing arts by staging artistically high, popular stage works in harmony with the idea of ​​national independence;
  • to improve the living culture of the population, to assist in the restoration and continuation of national values, customs, traditions, rituals, and national holidays;
  • development and implementation of large-scale programs of theater and concert-spectacle touring activities in the country and abroad.
